The LaVergne Law Group is experienced in handling individuals and businesses in disputes with Nevada state agencies regarding licensing and employment issues in accordance with the Nevada Administrative Code and Petitions for Judicial Review.
Appeals
The LaVergne Law Group is skilled in the practice of persuasive appellate writing and preserving the record to ensure that an appellate court will hear all available arguments. In addition to clerking at an appellate court, Mr. LaVergne has handled or worked on appeals in New York, Texas and Nevada state appellate courts, and he has also handled appeals in California state appellate courts and the Second and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals in the federal appellate jurisdiction.
Business and Commercial Litigation
The LaVergne Law Group is capable of handling legal matters that arise when businesses encounter disputes with other businesses or individuals. Mr. LaVergne has handled or worked on the legal matters of a Fortune 300 company and other cases involving virtually all business related issues such as breach of contract, tortious interference with business relations, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing and the Uniform Commercial Code.
Criminal
The LaVergne Law Group’s criminal law practice is generally limited to all misdemeanors – including DUI’s and domestic violence cases – and certain felony offenses.
General Civil Litigation
The LaVergne Law Group defines General Civil Litigation as encompassing a variety of topics involving lawsuits or anticipated lawsuits, including riparian rights, defamation, teachers’ rights and civil rights.
Labor and Employment
The LaVergne Law Group represents both individuals and businesses in disputes and planning involving harassment and discrimination, employment contracts, workers’ compensation, employment policies and handbooks and workplace violence.
Personal Injury
The LaVergne Law Group handles a variety of personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, slips and falls, wrongful death and products liability claims. These matters are generally taken on a contingency fee basis, meaning that The LaVergne Law Group typically will not charge a client up front fees and will also advance the expenses of the lawsuit (fees will only be earned if The LaVergne Law Group recovers damages).
The LaVergne Law Group does NOT practice in the following areas:
- Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning
- Real Estate Transactions (The LaVergne Law Group will handle real estate matters that involve either pending or anticipated litigation)
- Bankruptcy
- Government and Lobbying
- Federal Workers’ and Veterans’ Claims
